Hello, I’m Katie…
My journey into Acupuncture, like so many, began as a patient. After months of debilitating headaches and tinnitus, and trying every kind of therapy going, it was Acupuncture administered by my GP that finally provided me relief.
I knew straight away that I had to find out more. Aged 41 and much to the surprise of my family and friends I enrolled at the International College of Chinese Medicine (ICOM), the oldest college of Chinese Medicine in the UK, and embarked upon a three year degree course in Chinese Medicine. I now have a BSc Honours in Acupuncture awarded by the University of Greenwich.
Thanks to ICOM I have an extremely broad and detailed knowledge of Chinese Medicine including Classical Acupuncture, also known as Stems and Branches. ICOM is the only college in the UK that teaches this ancient form of Acupuncture that balances the body and mind. I also use Five Elements Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Acupuncture (TCM) – which rather confusingly has actually only been around for sixty years or so.
I am a fully certified member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and adhere to their strict code of conduct and safe practice. I am licensed with both the BAcC and the local council so you can me assured that you’re receiving the best and safest possible care.
I am also a fully accredited member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network. Only Acupuncturists trained to Degree level can undertake this post graduate training in gynaecology that has an emphasis on training to support specific protocols. They are a very good source of information for anyone considering using Acupuncture to support their fertility journey.
I have worked as a Reflexologist in Tunbridge Wells for the past thirteen years and will be continuing with my reflexology appointments as I feel that the two therapies really work well together and most importantly, I love working with them both.
I am a proud member of
